The Bright Side: French National Library launches appeal for Proust's 'madeleine' manuscripts


France’s National Library launched a public appeal to raise 7.7 million euros ($9.1 million) to buy hundreds of unpublished documents penned by Marcel Proust, including writings concerning the famous madeleine cake that triggered an outpouring of the author’s childhood memories.
