Quick Takes: What Stands Out?

  • Indiana’s Historic No. 1: The Hoosiers’ perfect season lands them the top seed – a massive surprise for a program that hasn’t been this dominant in decades.
  • SEC Powerhouse: 7 of the top 9 teams, but Alabama’s 10-3 record and first-round road game add intrigue.
  • Group of 5 Breakthrough: James Madison (12-1) and Tulane (11-2) represent the non-Power 5 conferences, with JMU facing a tough Oregon matchup.
  • Key Notes: The five highest-ranked conference champions auto-qualify, even if outside the Top 25. If seeds hold, semifinals would pit No. 1 vs. No. 4 and No. 2 vs. No. 3 winners.
